Dale is an almost 3 year old very handsome liver roan male German Shorthaired Pointer. Look at those ears!

He is very social, and very friendly and gets really excited to go on his walks. He is very curious and likes to chase the birds and lizards.

He is a big, strong boy and does pull a little bit on leash in the beginning of the walk because he is so excited, but listens well, and calms down after a few minutes. He is food and treat motivated which is perfect for positive training.

We feel Dale would be a great dog for people who like to go on long walks and hikes. He loves to explore, and gets excited for walks.

The Basics
Gender: Male
Age: 3
Dogs: Good with well mannered dogs
Good with Cats: No Cats
Kids: Unknown

The Good Stuff:

Very friendly guy who is a big love bug.

Walks great on a leash, and loves his walks.

He is good with other well mannered dogs when properly introduced.

He is food and treat motivated which makes for easy training.

The Challenges:

So incredibly sweet once he gets initial energy out! My mom, who is used to only walking her small dogs, was able to walk him with little issues. He can be very strong when he wants to be and does pull, so leash work is needed, but after a few minutes, he is just a little lover. He wanted to come back to the kennel pretty quickly after walking maybe a half mile or so, so he was brought in to the fields and turns out, he's amazing at fetch! He loved playing with both toys and a tennis ball. He brings the toys right back to you after you throw them and will drop them. I tried to play tug of war with him, but once I grabbed the toy in his mouth, he would immediately drop it, even with me trying to get him to tug it back. He seemed to enjoy playing fetch much more than walking and sniffing around. He could use some work on manners, he does jump with paws up onto you, but most of the time he is just asking for affection by doing it, not trying to push you. He was the highlight of my Sunday! He's such a sweet guy and is going to be so amazing in a house.

Has some resource guarding with food with other dogs, so in a multi dog home, would need to be managed, and fed separately.

Not a candidate for a cat home

Needs a secure yard
