As summer nears, there seems to be more GSPs needing to be rescued. Matty happens to be one of those dogs. After being picked up as a stray and taken to a local Humane Society, he was held for over a week waiting for his owners to claim him. When his owners didn’t claim him, California GSP Rescue asked Volunteer Michael to pick up and help transport Matty to the rescue.
Michael and his wife Sharon, are former adopters and often lend a hand helping at adoption events, transporting, or doing anything else that needs to be done. You might recognize Michael from photos on our website with his foster dog Ebony. Both Sharon and Michael are dedicated individuals that help make the rescue successful. When Michael heard that there was a dog in need of transport, he was more than happy to help get Matty one step closer to his forever home. Michael was given the honor of naming Matty aka Matt, and chose to name him in honor of his grandson. As you can see from the photo, Matt is very grateful to Michael for helping him get one step closer to his forever home.
A big thanks to Michael and Sharon for helping get Matt to safety!
Check back soon, as we will be bringing you more information about Matt as we get to know him.
