Doc is a very handsome 1 year old white and liver male German Shorthaired Pointer.
This amazing GSP is a very sweet boy. He lived with 5 children, and was great with them. Sadly, Doc’s former family had a very busy household, and were not able to give this young boy the exercise, attention and training he needs. He is very active and even with a 5 mile run every day, Doc was still wanting more, and would play fetch for hours. His family felt they couldn’t give him enough, and thought it would be best to bring him to us to help him find a more active home where Doc could thrive.
Doc loves being with people. He is house trained and crate trained. He knows a few commands, such as “sit” , “come”, “stay”, “heel”, “drop it”. He needs some help with some leash training as he does pull a bit. He gets along great with other dogs.
We are looking for a family who can provide him with plenty of stimulation, an abundance of daily exercise and continued training. Someone who will appreciate Doc for the amazing dog he is, and help him become even more amazing.
If you feel that you would be a good fit for Doc, and are able to provide him with what he needs, please apply here.
If you are interested in adopting a young dog like Doc, we recommend a few visits to the rescue to educate yourselves about the breed, and interacting with the young dogs, walking them, and playing with them. At these visits, you will be able to speak with our volunteers who can answer any questions and address concerns you may have about a particular dog you are interested in. These visits are by appointment only after you have completed an application. Please ask your adoption counselor how to set up a visit!
