Little Lexi is an adorable 5 year old black and white German Shorthaired Pointer Mix.
Little Lexi was found as a stray, and taken to a local shelter where she sat and waited for her owners to come and take her home. She waited, and waited and waited, but they never came for her.
When Little Lexi was made available to the public, she had an adopter interested in her, but due to a medical finding at the shelter, they were no longer interested in adopting her. She sat at the shelter for a month, and her days were numbered. This is when the California GSP Rescue stepped in.
We have learned that Little Lexi likes to explore, and does know some commands. She loves the attention from humans, and seems to be good with kids and other dogs. She loves to play, and watch birds and butterflies. She walks well on a leash, and has more of a mellow personality, most likely from being a mix, and not the full blown energy of a purebred GSP her age.
She did have a cystic sarcoma that was removed from her anal gland area, and she has healed nicely. Our vet is confident he got it all, however it is something her new owner will want to keep an eye on for any re-occurrence or changes.
Little Lexi will do well in a home where she can get daily walks, continued training, affection and attention, and be a companion to someone who does not need to be extremely active. She needs someone who loves the qualities of a GSP, but also appreciates the calm demeanor of a mix.
