Marty is a 2 year old male German Shorthaired Pointer, and he is gorgeous and smart! He came to us as his owner had a change in his work schedule and was unable to give him the exercise and attention he needs.
Marty LOVES to run, and makes an excellent running buddy. He also enjoys playing with other dogs. This boy is a young bundle of GSP energy! He is house trained and crate trained. He knows how to drink out of a hose to a hydration pack which is great for hiking! He absolutely loves people and is a snuggle bug. Slept with his owner every night. He is good off leash and comes when called.
Marty has had some training and knows “sit”, “stay”, “down”, “off” and “come”. He used to go running with his previous owner. He told us that he pulls a little on the leash at first for the first mile or so and then settles in. He is good both on and off leash running and will run ahead but wait for anyone else running with him.
Marty would need a home that could give him plenty of daily exercise, a run or two every day, and continued training. The ideal situation for him would be a home where someone works from home or is only gone for a couple of hours. As we said, Marty loves his people, and doesn’t like to be away from them for too long.
