Mocha is a 9 year old beautiful liver female German Shorthaired Pointer. She was adopted from us back in 2012 when she was 2 years old, and returned this year as her family no longer had the time for her. They adopted Mocha when their kids were young, and now that the kids are grown, and due to their busy schedules, they reached out to us about Mocha, and thought it would be best for us to help find her a new home.
Mocha is crate trained, but is not house trained. Unfortunately, after adopting Mocha, her owners began keeping her outside and making her sleep in the garage and never took the time to house train her in the 7 years they had her. With love, training and patience, she can be easily house trained. She is such a great dog. Sweet and smart, and deserves someone who is willing to spend the time with her and make her feel secure and loved.
We don’t think she was well socialized, as she is very uncomfortable around other dogs. She is good on a leash, but pulls a little. She knows a few commands, “sit”, “stay” and “come”. She is very affectionate and loves getting attention and pets from her people. Mocha yearns to be loved.
The ideal home for Mocha would be as an only dog or with someone with the experience that could properly socialize her with another mellow dog with positive and slow introductions. A secure yard where she can run and play and interact with her people. A home with someone who will take the time to house train her so that she can live out her life inside the home and be a cherished part of a family FOREVER.
