Meet Oskar Blue!

Oskar Blue is a gorgeous 10 1/2 year old male German Shorthaired Pointer and German Wirehaired Pointer Mix. He was surrendered to the shelter by his owner who no longer had time for him. He had him for 6 years.

When Oskar Blue arrived at the shelter, his owner completed the shelter questionnaire which helped us learn a little more about him. Oskar Blue is house trained and crate trained. He does well on a leash, and loves to go for walks. He never lived with other dogs, and wasn’t socialized with them, so he would be best in a home as an only dog. He is protective around his food, so he would not be able to go to a home with children.

He still has plenty of energy and loves to run and play. He has had some training. His previous owner said he knows the commands, Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Heal, Wait, Lay Down, Speak and Shake.

We are looking for a home where Oskar can be an only dog, and no children in the home. To be with someone who will take him on daily walks and give him the love and affection he deserves. Making him part of the family, sleeping inside the home, helping him to feel secure and safe and loved. At 10 1/2, Oskar Blue still has some good years left. He still has plenty of energy, and would like a person to call his own. There is something about adopting a senior dog. The love they give you in return is boundless. We would love for Oskar Blue to live out the rest of his life in a home where he will be the center of someone’s world and cherished.
