Tibbs is a very handsome liver and white German Shorthaired Pointer rocking the Abe Vigoda eyebrows. We believe him to be approximately 8 years old. He was picked up as a stray and taken to a shelter where he sat and waited for his owner, but sadly his owner never showed up to claim him. An unfortunate common occurrence when people consider an 8 year old dog “too old”. For those of you who are familiar with this breed, you know that GSP’s are puppies well into their teens!
Tibbs is very friendly guy. He is fine with other older mild mannered dogs, but not fond of being around a ton of dogs, as he gets overwhelmed. We feel he could be good with a mellow female, or could also be happy as an only dog, We have learned that Tibbs would not be a candidate for a cat home.
Tibbs is partially house trained, and crate trained. He walks well on a leash. He loves affection, snuggling with his people, and getting attention and pets. He doesn’t react to loud noises. He loves to play fetch and tug of war. A rope toy is his favorite. We have been told he has been fine with children at his foster home.
As we always refer to GSP’s as “Velcro dogs”, Tibbs is no exception. As a typical GSP does, Tibbs will bond very closely with his family.
Being 8 years old, Tibbs is perfect for a person or family that can give him a walk or two a day. He doesn’t require a runner to take him on daily runs. He would love to accompany you on walks, a ride to a coffee shop or just hanging out at home snuggling on the couch while watching television. He just wants to be a loved and cherished member of a family he can call his own forever.
