We recently announced our participation in ResQWalk. This is a Free App for both Iphones and Android phones that helps raise money for rescue. There is a new pool of donations announced each week which is divided by the miles walked. The more people that choose California GSP Rescue – and the more miles you walk (hopefully with your GSP!) – the more donations are made to the Rescue!
Have you downloaded the app and tried it yet? There are also bonuses and prizes you and the rescue can win as well! What a great way to help the rescue, doing what you do anyway! We can’t think of a better way to get motivated to walk and help dogs in need at the same time!
Created by the team at ResQthreads, ResQwalk is an iOS mobile app that enables animal lovers to raise money for animal rescues and shelters in the United States and Canada every time they go for a walk. Each week ResQwalk announces a donation pool (e.g. $2,500) and in order for a rescue to receive donations from the pool, its supporters simply need to check-in to the app when they go for a walk (with a dog, alone, or with a friend). Each walker’s distance is recorded and added to the rescue’s weekly sum. At the end of the week donations are paid out to the rescues proportionally to the total distance walked.
Other cool features of the app include: prizes at the end of each walk, a news section with pet related content, a shop section with product deals and offers, and profile pages for users and rescues to track both miles walked and dollars raised.
Here’s how it works!
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
We have interest from corporate sponsors but, before they will fund our weekly donation pools, we first need to prove that people like YOU want to walk for homeless animals!
Our goal is to raise $20,000 to fund the initial donation pools. This way we will be able to run the app for 2 months, with fully funded donation pools, and prove that people want to walk in support of homeless animals.
Thank you for your support so that we can continue to help GSP’s in need!
