We are just one week away from the Race For The Rescues event next Sunday, November 10th at the Great Park in Irvine, California.
You might know of the many hours spent each week rescuing German Shorthaired Pointers by the volunteers, however, what many don’t know is the amount of money it takes to run the rescue. The adoption fees help keep us solvent but when we encounter larger than normal Vet bills, we have to look elsewhere to pay. Sometimes we the volunteers contribute while other times we may find a benefactor that is willing to help. During this time when we are looking for ways in which to pay off the Vet bill, we are still business as usual with regards to rescuing GSPs and finding them forever homes. The dogs in our care are fed and provided for. Fundraisers such as this are necessary to ask for help while we struggle to remain solvent.
On November 10th, we are looking to change that…
On Sunday, November 10th, 2013, CA GSP Rescue will be participating in the first annual Race for the Rescues Orange County, a 1K Dog Walk and Kids’ Fun Run. This event supports local non-profit animal welfare organizations that annually save the lives of thousands of dogs, cats, and horses and California GSP Rescue is fortunate to have been included. Money raised will be allocated to help pay for Vet bills before the expense is actually incurred. These funds will help us run more efficiently while we continue our mission.
Please consider making a tax deductible donation towards our team. No amount is too small and will go towards saving GSPs from the shelters and euthanasia and helping see they get the medical attention they need.
It’s important to know that California GSP Rescue is an all volunteer organization. Volunteers are not compensated monetarily but know when a dog is adopted and that we have done some good.
So far we are over half way to our goal! Please support Team CA GSP Rescue by donating, sponsoring or joining our team! Please register here to join our team to run, walk or adopt, or be there in spirit by registering for our “Couch Potato” race by making a donation here.
For those that have sponsored our team and donated so far, we thank you for your compassion, and your continued support for the CA GSP Rescue.
