Meet Arnold — A Gentle Soul Looking for His Forever Person

Arnold | 1½ years old | Male | German Shorthaired Pointer Mix

Meet Arnold, a handsome and uniquely adorable German Shorthaired Pointer mix with a heart as big as his beautiful, one-of-a-kind looks. At just 1½ years old, Arnold is still a young boy figuring out the world, and while he can be a little shy when he first meets you, give him a little kindness and patience and you'll quickly discover the sweet, affectionate dog underneath.

Once Arnold knows you, he wants to know that you're nearby.

He's a curious boy who loves his people and enjoys soaking up their attention. And when Arnold gets excited? Watch out — this silly boy loves to spin in circles! It's just one of the many little things that makes him so endearing.

Arnold is an active young GSP mix, so his forever family should be ready for plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, training, and quality time together. He isn't looking for a home where he'll simply spend his days lounging around. He wants to go places, learn things, explore, play, and be part of your life.

And he has already shown us that he's a pretty awesome companion.

Arnold walks beautifully on a leash, although he can be a strong boy at times. His volunteers say he's manageable, listens well, and is very affectionate. He knows “sit”, and because he's treat motivated and smart, imagine how much fun it will be to teach him everything else!

He also enjoys car rides, making him an excellent candidate for a family who wants a canine adventure buddy.

Things His Forever Family Should Know

Arnold is still young and has plenty of energy. He will need daily exercise, mental stimulation, training, and time with his people to help him thrive.

He's a strong boy, but he listens well and is manageable on leash.

Arnold will also need to be house trained in his new environment while he learns his family's routine.

And while he may be a little shy at first, don't let that fool you. With patience and kindness, Arnold warms up quickly and reveals what a loving, playful boy he really is.

What OUR Volunteers Say

“Very sweet boy.”

“Loves people.”

“Walks well, affectionate, knows sit, awesome dog.”

“Very curious. Loves to spin in circles when excited. Loves to know you are nearby.”

“Handsome boy, very friendly and playful.”

Arnold isn't the loudest dog in the room. He may take a moment to decide that you're his person.

But once he does, He'll be right there with you.

He's the kind of dog who will quietly become your shadow, your walking buddy, your passenger on car rides, your training partner, and eventually the goofy boy spinning in circles because he's just so happy to see you.

Arnold has so much potential.

He needs someone who will give him the time to build confidence, the structure to help him learn, the exercise his GSP side requires, and most importantly, the love he deserves.

If you're looking for a sweet, handsome, active young dog who wants to be your best friend and is ready to learn everything life has to offer, Arnold would love to meet you.
