Whiskey is a handsome four-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer who is healthy, affectionate, social, and full of the wonderful energy we all love about the breed.

Whiskey is the kind of dog who wants to be part of your life. He isn't looking for a home where he'll simply spend his days hanging out in a big backyard. A yard is great, but what Whiskey really needs is a person who will include him in their daily adventures, continue his training, and give him the physical and mental stimulation a GSP needs.

In return? You get an enthusiastic, devoted companion who is ready to go wherever you go — and then come home for plenty of affection.

A Sweet Boy With a Big Heart

Whiskey meets new people with a gentle warmth, his tail wagging with cautious hope as he gets to know you.

On his first day, he walked beautifully on leash, moving with a surprising amount of grace and needing only gentle guidance.

And when someone threw a ball? Whiskey was off!

He loves to chase, retrieve, and bring the ball right back to you. He hasn't quite mastered the concept of letting you have it again — because, naturally, why would he?

His playful personality is obvious, but so is his desire to interact with his people.

Whiskey is a good boy who listens to commands, enjoys exploring, and loves being near his person. He's what many GSP lovers affectionately call a “Velcro dog” — the kind who wants to know where you are and preferably be right there beside you.

He loves attention.

He loves getting pets.

And he loves being with his people.

Whiskey & Other Dogs

Whiskey is good with well-socialized, well-mannered dogs and enjoys having canine friends who understand how to play appropriately.

He's also very social with people and is good with everyone he meets.

What Whiskey Needs

Whiskey may be four years old, but he still has plenty of that signature GSP energy. The difference is that he's past the whirlwind puppy stage and has the maturity to become a wonderful, steady companion for the right person.

His ideal home will provide:
