Corazon
Corazon is a beautiful 11 year female senior German Shorthaired Pointer. Corazon and her daughter, Tezoro were surrendered when their owners were moving away, and were both left behind at a shelter. Corazon and Tezoro lived their entire lives in the backyard, but thankfully, always had each other.
Corazon is very sweet and easy, but don’t let that powder face fool you. She still has plenty of energy to enjoy daily walks, a nice hike or trips to the beach.
Corazon symbolizes love, courage, affection, and the core/center of something. She is the center of Tezoro’s world, and they need to be adopted together.
The Basics
Gender: Female
Age: 11
Dogs: Good with well mannered and socialized dogs
Good with Cats: Unknown
Kids: Unknown
The Good Stuff:
Sweet demeanor
Easy on the leash and loves her walks
Corazon doesn’t need as much exercise as a young GSP, but even at 11 years old, she has plenty of energy to burn.
Good riding in a car
The Challenges:
Corazon lived her entire life outdoors, so she will need house training to be able to enjoy the comforts of a home indoors with her family.
Corazon needs to be adopted with her daughter, Tezoro. They have always been together, and we do not want to separate them.
What our volunteers are saying about Tezoro:
She still has plenty of energy for daily exercise
Loves her walks and walks well together with Tezoro
A bit shy at first, but warms up quickly
Enjoys coming up for pets
Sweet
Wants to be with Tezoro
Cuddles with Tezoro in their beds
Will walk without Tezoro, but you can tell they prefer to walk side by side. They both have a huge prey drive and spent the majority of the walk hunting in the grass. Corazon saw a butterfly go by and did a dead stop to do a beautiful point right at the butterfly, then pounced on it. Luckily for the butterfly, she missed her pounce and watched it fly away. Corazon has so much energy, especially for a dog of her age! Some of the younger dogs pull less than she does. Neither of them seemed to know any commands, they wouldn't sit when asked or bribed with a treat. They are both sweethearts though. They really just want to adventure and get affection. Tezoro pulls a little less than Corazon, but both are going to need quite a bit of leash training. They will both lead you on the walk and are as far in front of you as you will let them to be. In kennel, they both jump up onto you. After their initial excitement, Tezoro will lean against you for you to give her love and pets. Corazon is a little more aloof and just ready to go get some exercise. They cuddle together in their dog house, even though they have the option of being separate. They are constantly wanting to be as close together as possible.
