Arlo
Arlo is a handsome 4 year old liver and white male German Shorthaired Pointer. He is a loving, affectionate and sweet boy-very smart, very well behaved. Arlo is a very calm and mellow GSP, and while he loves being active and play, he also loves a good nap.
He is exceptionally well trained. He knows all of his general obedience commands and much more such as “sit, stay, down, outside, leave it, no, up, let's go, and heel. He knows hand signals for sit, stay and down. He is extremely easy to teach new commands, being food driven as well as highly intelligent. Arlo is such a pleasure to have around.
Arlo loves to play fetch, and is great at retrieving balls, dropping it at your feet or in your hand each time. It's his favorite game. He also loves squeaky, soft stuffed toys.
Arlo bonds most easily and readily with women. He appreciates a calm, quiet atmosphere where he can spend most of his time indoors with people, but he would also love a big backyard to run and play in.
Arlo was kept outdoors on concrete or asphalt. He is hesitant to go outside at night. We believe he's afraid he'll be left outside. Arlo must sleep indoors and be a part of the family.
Arlo is a sensitive dog who needs kindness and compassion and security. He wants to bond with his person and please them. He needs people around. He would be perfect for someone retired or who works from home. He is a calm, polite, well-behaved boy that deserves a loving home where he can feel secure and live a good, long life.

The Good Stuff:
Loves being around people.
Fully house trained.
Has had training, and knows many commands.
He loves to go for rides and accompany you on errands. He prefers to sit in the backseat on the passenger side with the window rolled down. He will not bark or stick his head out the window. He has never tried to jump out. When you open the door just tell him "wait" and he will.
Hiking and exploring is absolutely his favorite activity. He would make somebody an exceptional hiking companion.
Well-behaved in the house. Never getting into anything, never being destructive, and completely housebroken. He doesn't bark.
Really good on a leash. He does well with a regular leash and collar, a harness and a retractable 25 ft. long leash. Arlo is also E-collar trained.
The Challenges:
Arlo needs to be the only dog in the home. He has never tried to bolt or go after another dog when he is on a leash. He's completely non reactive to them, however he is reactive to dogs inside the home sharing his space.
Fearful of loud noises and people or other dogs who move too quickly or closely to him.
Fearful of men with beards and baseball caps. Gravitates more towards women.
