Meet Hanz, a stunning black-and-white roan GSP with a big personality, a loving heart, and a very special bond with his sister, Hannah.
Hanz and Hannah came into rescue after their owner passed away. The were initially taken in by a couple with considerable property. However, the pair still needed more structured exercise, supervision, and interaction than acreage alone could provide. They've been through a heartbreaking loss together, and throughout it all, they've had each other.
Hanz and Hannah are bonded and must be adopted together.
Fortunately, these two are an absolutely wonderful pair.
Hanz loves people, loves adventure, and has that wonderful GSP combination of intelligence, athleticism, and enthusiasm. He's an active boy who wants to be part of whatever his people are doing—and he'd be thrilled if that included hiking, exploring, playing fetch, or splashing around in the water.
A Dog Who Is Ready for Adventure
Hanz is a very active young GSP, so his ideal family will be active too.
He loves being outside and enjoys putting his GSP instincts to work. He loves chasing lizards, playing fetch, and exploring the field with Hannah. The two of them have a blast chasing birds together, and they are surprisingly good walking companions.
Hanz is also good on leash and has good energy when walking with Hannah.
But don't think he's all business!
This handsome boy loves to have fun.
He'll chase a lizard.

He'll retrieve a ball and bring it right back to you.
And if there's a pool available?
He's happy to splash around in it!
Sweet, Social & Already Trained
Hanz isn't just an energetic athlete—he's a wonderful companion.
He loves all people and has lived successfully with children and cats. He also does well with well-socialized, well-mannered dogs.
He's already house trained and crate trained, and he has had some training. He knows “sit,” “stay,” and “shake,” and he has a great foundation for continued learning.
His new family should continue his training and provide plenty of mental stimulation along with his physical exercise. For a smart young GSP like Hanz, training isn't just about manners—it's a great way to keep his brain busy and strengthen the bond with his people.
And Hannah? She's Coming Too!
The most important thing to know about Hanz is that Hannah is part of the package.
These two are bonded, and we are committed to finding them a home together.
They have already lost their owner. We don't want them to lose each other.
They complement one another beautifully. Both have good energy, both enjoy walks, both love getting outside, and they clearly enjoy sharing adventures together.
Watching Hanz and Hannah explore a field together, chase birds, or simply walk side by side is a wonderful reminder that sometimes two dogs really are better together.

Hanz is a young, very active GSP and needs an active lifestyle.
He will need daily physical exercise, mental stimulation, and continued training—no days off!
His ideal home will be with someone who genuinely enjoys the outdoors and wants their dogs to be part of their lifestyle. Hiking, exploring, long walks, playing fetch, training, and other activities would be right up Hanz's alley.
A family looking for two dogs to simply hang out in the backyard would not be the right match.
Hanz needs people who will engage with him and give him a job, an outlet, and plenty of opportunities to use both his body and his brain.
And, of course, Hanz and Hannah must be adopted together.
