Kaisen

Kaisen is an adorable 2 ½ year old German Shorthaired Pointer Mix. Kaisen’s Dad is a purebred GSP, and his Mom is a mixed breed. While Kaisen is a GSP Mix, he is still young with plenty of energy, and loves to run and play.

He loves to play with the other dogs, and is great with kids. He does chase cats and other small creatures, so he would most likely not be a candidate for a cat home.

Kaisen has had a little training. Knows “sit”, “place”, “stay” and “leave it”. He does need some work on leash training, and continued practice with commands. He is also crate trained. He is highly trainable and excited for you to teach him new things, and play a game of fetch!

Kaisen would be good in a multi dog home, as he loves the company of other dogs to play with, but would also do well as an only dog with someone that is committed to providing him with attention, daily exercise, games, fetch, (he loves playing frisbee), and training to keep him stimulated and busy. He is very social, and would be a great companion to accompany you to dog friendly establishments.

Very puppy! He's lower energy than the full GSP’s, but still loved running! He wanted to greet every person and dog he met. He gives so much love to everyone, including face kisses. He was play bowing all the dogs as they passed and attempting to play from a distance. He didn't jump on anyone, so he already has a good amount of manners, both on and off leash. He's very easy to get in and out of his kennel. He wants everyone to acknowledge him and give him pets. He's a smaller boy, but has so much love in his little body. He did well while walking, but did get distracted by people and other dogs going by. He doesn't pull terribly, but doesn't stay right next to you. He walks a little ahead of you and leads the way. 

The Challenges:

Needs an active home as he is young, so daily exercise and training is a must

Afraid of fireworks. Will need a calm place to chill, and not be left alone

It is unknown if Kaisen is house trained - we presume he is not, so he will need to be house trained in a new environment so he can learn the routine
