Cap is a 5 year old handsome liver roan male German Shorthaired Pointer.

Sometimes, the heart you’re searching for isn’t found in a puppy’s boundless energy, but in the quiet wisdom of a dog like Cap. Cap arrived at a remote shelter, five years old and carrying the kind of gentle gravity only time can give.

When we first met Cap, what caught us off guard was Cap’s gentle ease. He settled into the car with quiet trust, moved beside us on the leash with a calm grace, and greeted every dog with a soft, unhurried curiosity. Even a spontaneous detour through the bright aisles of Home Depot became an effortless adventure at his side.

The Good Stuff:

Sweet demeanor

Easy on the leash

Cap still loves exercise and adventure, but unlike a young GSP, he only needs about half as much. A good walk, hike, run, or bike ride followed by time on the couch is all this sweet boy wants

Good riding in a car

Very social and would be a great companion to accompany you to dog friendly establishments

The Challenges:

It is unknown if Cap is house trained - we presume he is not, so he will need to be house trained in a new environment so he can learn the routine
