Meet Olive — Your Next Adventure Buddy!

Olive | 2 years old | Female | Solid Liver | German Shorthaired Pointer

Meet Olive, a beautiful solid-liver GSP with a playful spirit, a happy personality, and plenty of energy to share!

At just 2 years old, Olive is your typical young German Shorthaired Pointer. She is active, athletic, curious, and ready to go! Whether it's a long walk, a hike, a game of fetch, a trip to the beach, a training session, or simply getting out and doing something with her people, Olive wants to be part of the action.

And then there's fetch.

Olive LOVES to play fetch!

She's also good on a leash, enjoys riding in the car, and will happily jump right in when it's time to go. She has done well with all of the dogs she's met and enjoys having canine friends. She can sometimes get a little enthusiastic and play rough with other dogs, but she listens when an appropriate correction comes from an older dog.

Olive is a girl who needs a job, an outlet, and a person who wants to spend time with her.

We're looking for an active individual or family who understands what life with a young GSP is all about and can commit to giving Olive at least 45 minutes of exercise 2–3 times a day. That's not a typo.

Olive isn't the dog who will be happy being left in the backyard for hours every day with nothing to do. A yard can be wonderful, but a yard isn't exercise, and it certainly isn't companionship.

Olive needs someone who will make her part of their daily life.

Maybe you work from home. Maybe you're retired. Maybe you're already the person who gets excited about sunrise hikes, long walks, beach days, bike rides, or exploring somewhere new on the weekend.

Maybe you've always wanted a running or hiking partner.

Maybe you'd love to teach your dog to run alongside your bike.

Or maybe you simply want a dog who is always ready to hear, “Come on, Olive. Let's go!”

If that's you, Olive could be an incredible match.

Give her the exercise, training, mental stimulation, and playtime she needs, and you won't just have a tired dog at the end of the day.

You'll have a happy dog who wants to curl up right beside you.

After a full day of adventures, we can picture Olive settling down next to her person while you read a book, watch your favorite show, or simply enjoy some quiet time together.

Things Olive's Forever Family Should Know

Olive is young and very active, and her exercise needs are significant.

Her ideal family will be able to provide a minimum of 45 minutes of exercise 2–3 times every day, along with training, mental stimulation, playtime, and plenty of interaction with her people.

Think walks, hikes, beach trips, fetch, training games, running, exploring, and adventures — not simply letting her entertain herself in the backyard.

Olive needs someone committed to her every day.

No days off.

We don't know if Olive is house trained, so her new family should be prepared to establish a consistent routine and work with her as she learns the expectations of her new home.

What OUr Volunteers Say

“Sweet and friendly.”

“Is good on a leash walk.”

“Plays fetch.”

“Very active and playful.”

“Does well with other dogs.”

Olive is looking for more than a home.

She's looking for a lifestyle.

She wants someone who wakes up ready to live life with their dog. Someone who doesn't mind getting out the door for that morning walk, taking a midday break for another adventure, and finding time for one more game of fetch before the day is done.

In return, you'll get a beautiful, joyful, athletic companion who is always ready to go wherever you go.

And when the adventures are over?

Olive will be perfectly happy to curl up beside you and remind you why having a GSP is so special.

If you're an active individual or family who has the time, energy, and commitment to give Olive the exercise, training, stimulation, and companionship she needs, she may be the adventure buddy you've been waiting for.

Olive is ready. Are you?
