Ranger

Ranger is a very handsome liver roan 3 year old male German Shorthaired Pointer. Ranger is a sweet and loving boy who needs plenty of exercise. An active family or person who is looking for a smart and equally active dog to accompany you on long walks or runs and hikes, who can continue his training and provide him the daily exercise he needs, will benefit from having this amazing GSP join your family.

Ranger loves the company of people. He lived with another dog and chickens, and does well with other dogs, however, he does have some resource guarding with food with other animals, so that would need to be managed if in a multi pet home.

Ranger lived with children, and did well, but will need to be mindful of his size as to not knock the little one’s over.

Ranger is an active and young GSP. He has had some training, and does know a few commands. He will need plenty of daily exercise, and will benefit from stimulation (i.e., games, agility) and continued training to keep him happy and successful in becoming an even greater dog. He is very smart and treat motivated making training easy!

Ranger is an amazing dog, and in the right home, where all of his incredible qualities can be nurtured and appreciated, where he is made a part of the family, the love and care you provide Ranger will come back to you tenfold.

The Challenges: 

Ranger was previously kept as an outdoor dog, so he will need house training to be able to enjoy the comforts of a home indoors with his family

Afraid of fireworks. Will need a calm place to chill, and not be left alone

Has some food resource guarding with other animals, so Ranger will need to be managed by feeding separately if there is another pet in the household.

Strong on a leash, and will need leash training

Ranger loves to rip up his toys and bed. Giving him non destructible toys will help, and also keeping him busy with puzzles, a frozen sturdy treat filled toy can also help.
