Valentine

Valentine is a 1 year old adorable female German Shorthaired Pointer Mix. She is a bundle of Joy! Friendly and affectionate with people. Loves other dogs, gets along with everyone, and loves to play. Being a GSP Mix, Valentine doesn’t exhibit the abundant energy of a 1 year old purebred GSP, and is much easier to manage.

The Good Stuff:

Very loving and affectionate

Rides well in a car

Does pretty good on a leash

Loves other dogs and enjoys playing with them

Will fetch the ball, but needs to learn how to bring it back to you

Loves to play with toys, especially squeaky toys

Much easier to manage than a 1 year old purebred GSP

The Challenges:

Being a 1 year old dog, and even though Valentine is not a purebred GSP, she will still need daily exercise, training and stimulation

It is unknown if Valentine is house trained - we presume she is not, so she will need to be house trained in a new environment so she can learn the routine.

What our volunteers are saying about Valentine:

Valentine has this adorable quirk where she will do a little jump while walking. Not a full jump onto you, but a little hop to show you she's happy.

She's extremely bouncy and a gorgeous girl. She's easy to get in and out of her kennel and is a great listener.

She doesn't pull much.

She was initially very shy on intake, but had a great time meeting everyone and has become much more outgoing.

She likes being pet and is an all around happy dog.

She is working on sit, but doesn't have it fully down. She isn't very food motivated, but loves praise and will do her happy bounce when you call her a good girl or baby talk to her.
