Hardy

Hardy is a stunning 6 year old liver roan male German Shorthaired Pointer. Hardy is as sweet as he is handsome, is good-natured, and needs someone who will appreciate all of his amazing qualities.

Hardy loves being around people, and when you shower Hardy with love, you will receive that love right back. He is smart and treat motivated, making training much easier. He does know “sit” and walks well on a leash, but will benefit from consistent training to enhance his commands and skills.

He prefers people over other dogs, so he will need to be the only dog in the home.

Hardy does not need the exercise required for a younger GSP. Daily walks, games for stimulation, and working with him on commands will make him happy and content, and thrive in his environment.

The Good Stuff:

Extremely sweet boy

Does well on a leash

Loves receiving affection and attention from people, and will give it right back

Rides well in a car, and can get in and out of the car easily

Knows sit, and is treat motivated

The Challenges: 

Hardy needs to be an only dog. He does not do well with large or small dogs.

Hasn’t had much training. Will need training with basic commands with consistency.

Hardy was attacked by another dog which resulted in a broken leg for Hardy. Unfortunately, the leg did not heal properly, and after his injury, he doesn’t like to put too much weight on his leg. When going on walks, he will sometimes hold his leg up and hop around when he walks, but occasionally he will walk on his leg.

He is vocal when he sees other dogs, and will pull a little bit to get to them, but stops and calms down when you pull him back and hold him. Hardy will benefit from someone who can devote the time with positive training to help him feel comfortable.
