Bodie Was Abandoned—But Not Forgotten

Just before the Fourth of July weekend, when shelters were bursting at the seams, we received a request to help Bodie.

At only five months old, this young German Shorthaired Pointer had already experienced more than any puppy should. He was found alone, scared, and confused—discarded and left to fend for himself. No tags. No microchip. No one came looking.

After being rescued, Bodie was shy. He lowered his head and hesitated to explore. But once volunteer Jeff spent just a few minutes with him outside, something changed. Bodie started to trust. His tail wagged. He played in the grass. The sweet, joyful puppy he truly is began to shine through.

Bodie also has a small umbilical hernia—something that can be corrected during his neuter procedure. It isn’t life-threatening and certainly not a reason to abandon a dog. We’ll make sure he gets everything he needs.

What he needs now is a place to call home.

Bodie is intelligent, good-natured, and full of potential. He’ll do well with an active person or family ready for adventure. They should understand that rescue GSP’s, especially young ones like Bodie, need structure and love.

And watch what happens to another very special dog in the video—it’s the kind of moment that reminds us why rescue work matters.

Bodie’s next chapter is waiting to be written. Please help us find the one he deserves by sharing his story.
