How a Dog Named Steve McQueen Found His Second Act

What happens when a dog named Steve McQueen gets a second chance?

When volunteer David saved a young German Shorthaired Pointer from a busy Los Angeles shelter, he had no clue he was about to meet a furry hero. Just a year old and bursting with energy, Steve McQueen had been found as a stray — no one came looking for him, and like so many GSP’s, his future was uncertain.

Steve’s first day with California GSP Rescue was pure chaos in the best way. He had energy to spare, no training to speak of, and absolutely no clue how to wear his post-neuter cone. But with a bit of patience and guidance, he began to transform. In just one afternoon, Steve learned the basics of leash walking, “sit,” and “down.” His big heart and eagerness to please quickly showed through his goofy exterior.

As volunteer Jeff put it, “He’s never really been worked with before, but he learns fast.”

Greg and Jeff did have a chuckle in the video where Steve McQueen was good and tired. They made it clear that this is "false advertising" if you think you are getting a couch potato. It took several hours to get him into this state!
