Peach Is Adopted!
Peach, a beautiful 1 ½ year old white and liver female German Shorthaired Pointer was available for adoption. She had a heart of gold that matched the heart on her hip.
Peach loved getting attention and affection from people. She was a bit shy at first, but after a few belly rubs, she was your best friend. Peach enjoyed the company of other dogs, and loves to play with them.
Peach had a little training, and knew a few commands, but needed someone dedicated to enhancing her training, and teach her to walk well on a leash. Along with the training, she would need plenty of daily exercise and stimulation. We were looking for a family that was active and understood her needs. Someone to love her, and dedicate the time, training, exercise and space for Peach.
Kelly and Shad applied to adopt a young dog for their family. They wanted a dog that was social with both people and other dogs, that could grow up with their children. While they hadn’t had a GSP, they had a Weimaraner as a puppy with similar energy. As a family, they are active, and were prepared and excited to bring a dog home to be a part of their daily activities, and provide the exercise and training a young GSP needs.
Peach seemed like the perfect fit. Social, loving, sweet and smart. Just what they were looking for. We invited their family out to meet Peach, and it couldn’t have gone better.
Peach is now known as Zoey, and is doing great in her forever home!
Day One
“I am happy to report that she had a great night last night! She slept with my daughter right beside her.
I gave her about two cups of the kibble you told me to get and she scarfed it down! I gave her the same thing this morning, but she has not been interested. Hopefully it's because she is still getting used to us. I also took her for a two mile walk and she loved it!
We took her to the pet store today and let her sniff everything and pick out her new collar.
She has been an angel! By the way, her new name is Zoey.
We are so happy with this sweet girl. Thank you so much for everything!
One Week Update
“I just wanted to give you an update on our girl. She has been adjusting just wonderfully to our crazy family! We take her on walks daily, and the younger kids also play with her in the backyard every day, as well.
She is quite the snuggle bug! I will be honest, we had the crate all set up for her, but have not used it once. She just started sleeping on her own little bed since we brought her home. She has us wrapped around her paw”!
One Month Update
“When we had our first introduction with Zoey, her name was Peach. We knew right away that she would fit into our family perfectly! We took her out on a walk the next morning and she must have sniffed every tree and bush we came across, getting to know her new environment. She gets daily walks with Mom or Dad and chases the kids around.
She definitely has a stubborn streak. If she does not want to keep walking, she just lays down and won’t budge. We are working on that! Zoey is very much a “daddy’s girl” and has her bed right next to his side.
With four kids at home, Zoey seems to be thriving in the chaos! She gets the zoomies in the the evening and just runs laps around the backyard as fast as she can. It’s hilarious. She wears herself out and just wants to cuddle until bedtime. She is the sweetest girl.
Overall, we really feel like Zoey is a wonderful addition to our household and are so happy with the whole adoption process!
Thank you so much!
