Tezoro & Corazon’s Rescue: Why This GSP Pair Belongs Together

What if the only life you ever knew was a backyard—and one day, you were simply dropped at the local animal shelter?

That’s the reality Tezoro and Corazon faced.

This mother-daughter pair of German Shorthaired Pointers arrived at a Southern California shelter after their family moved away, leaving them behind after spending nearly their entire lives outdoors. At 9 and 11 years old, they had never known couches, hikes, or beach days—only concrete, weather, and waiting.

When California GSP Rescue learned they’d been transferred to a Long Beach shelter, volunteers acted fast. What they found were two incredibly sweet, gentle dogs—strong, healthy, and full of calm perseverance. Though they showed signs of a hard life, including calluses on their legs and paws from living outside, their spirits were unmistakably hopeful.

Tezoro, the daughter, still carries youthful excitement. She leans in for affection, anxious to be close, soaking up every moment of attention. Corazon—whose name means sweetheart—is calmer but still active, happily joining walks and staying close to her daughter at every step. Their relationship is unmistakable. They’ve never known life apart, and they completely blossom together.

Despite their ages, these girls aren’t “old.” They’re active, loving, and a wonderful balance—loving companions for someone who enjoys walks, light hikes, or even a beach stroll without the demands of a high-energy puppy. They’re a beautiful example of what senior dogs offer: gratitude, calm affection, and loyalty that runs deep.

Tezoro and Corazon are searching for a home that can welcome them together—a place where they can finally experience the life they were always meant to have.
