Meet Ava — A Beautiful Young GSP Looking for Her Active Forever Family!

Ava | 10 months old | Female | White & Liver Roan | German Shorthaired Pointer

Ava is a gorgeous 10-month-old White and Liver Roan German Shorthaired Pointer with a sweet, playful personality and plenty of puppy enthusiasm!

Ava is a wonderful young girl who is house trained and crate trained, and she has already had some professional training. She enjoys her daily walks, although she is still working on her leash manners and can pull when something catches her attention.

Like any young GSP, Ava is very much still a puppy — curious, energetic, playful, and eager to experience everything the world has to offer. She loves being outdoors, exploring her surroundings, and even stopping to investigate the crickets she finds along the way!

When she's not exploring, Ava loves her toys and puzzles, and she especially enjoys a good game of fetch. She also enjoys car rides and would happily be your adventure buddy.

Ava Needs an Active Home

Ava's energy and puppy behavior mean she needs more than just a couple of walks around the block. She will need plenty of daily exercise, playtime, training, and mental stimulation to keep her happy and help her continue to mature into the wonderful adult dog she can become.

An adopter who understands the energy and needs of a young German Shorthaired Pointer would be ideal for Ava.

Ava & Other Dogs

Ava does well with other dogs and is always excited when she gets the opportunity to play. She is submissive and somewhat shy, so she may benefit from patient canine companions who allow her time to become comfortable.

One thing her new family will need to manage is her toys. Ava does not like to share her toys with other dogs, so toys will need to be managed appropriately in a multi-dog home.

Children

Ava has been around children over 10 years old. Because she is an energetic young dog who likes to jump up when excited, extra caution and supervision will be needed around younger children. Continued training and boundaries will be important as she learns appropriate greetings.

Cats

Ava has never been around cats, so her compatibility with cats is currently unknown.

What Ava Is Looking For

An active, loving forever home
Plenty of daily exercise and outdoor adventures
Lots of playtime, fetch, puzzles, and mental stimulation
Someone committed to continuing her training, especially leash manners
A home prepared to manage toys around other dogs
Careful supervision around younger children
A home without cats, or one prepared to carefully assess her compatibility
Someone experienced with the energy and needs of a young GSP

Ava is still at the beginning of her life, and she has so much potential. She is playful, affectionate, curious, and eager to be part of the action.

She doesn't need someone looking for a perfectly finished dog. She needs someone ready to embrace the puppy she is today and help her become the amazing adult GSP she is meant to be.

With the right person by her side, Ava could be the kind of dog who is ready to join you for adventures, curl up after a long day, chase a ball until she's tired, and make you laugh with all of her silly puppy antics.

Ava is ready for her next chapter. She just needs someone willing to make it her forever.

If you feel your experience and active lifestyle may be a fit for Ava, please apply here.
