Dusty
Dusty is an adorable 3 year old liver female German Shorthaired Pointer. Dusty has revealed the gentle magic within her. Affectionate and soft, and eager to befriend every person and dog she meets. She is also quietly respectful of cats.
She easily navigated the bustle of a coffee shop with the calm grace of a seasoned companion. She will cling tightly to anyone willing to show her kindness, asking for nothing but a gentle hand, and a feeling of of comfort.
Dusty is young, and will need plenty of exercise and training. She will make an excellent walking and hiking companion, and will stay by your side. Both exercise and training for this young GSP are a must, and at the end of the day, she will just be happy to sit on the couch with you and snuggle.
Dusty is a dog who only ever needed someone to say yes, to open the door to the life she was meant to live.

What our volunteers are saying about Dusty:
Good with other dogs
Was shy and avoided interacting with me when I entered the field with her. Crouched down and coaxed her, she sniffed my hand and allowed me to pet her head but was wary. I moved my hand too fast and she jumped away and flinched. After a few more minutes of coaxing, she became loose and wiggly, leaning into me for pets and jumping up for a hug. She licked my hands and loved getting neck scratches. While getting scratched, she grinned and kicked her back foot.
Extremely sweet girl once she warmed up to me. Doesn't appear to know sit yet, but is very treat motivated. Didn't show interest in the tennis ball or fetch.
Walks very well on leash, minimal pulling and stays close to you.
Dusty doesn’t appear to have had experience riding in cars previously. She was extremely confused when trying to load her up, but was lured with a treat, and became more comfortable. She sat very well in the car, and was a perfect passenger.
Took her for a pup cup, and she was friendly at Starbucks and ignored the people walking by, mainly focusing on me.
No barking the entire time she was out. At the park, she rolled in the grass. She did enjoy sniffing, but mainly wanted to interact with us.
She loves jumping up to give us hugs and ask for affection.
She's laid back, but still energetic. Very velcro.
She did great playing in the field with some of the dogs.
She came into the office to meet Mac, the cat, as well and completely ignored him. She looked at him once, then jumped on me for pets.
She's an AMAZING dog.
