Meet Scott — A Love Bug With a Heart Full of Puppy Fun!

Scott | 1 year old | Male | German Shorthaired Pointer Mix

Meet Scott, an adorable young GSP mix with a wonderful personality, a playful spirit, and a serious appreciation for belly rubs!

Scott came to rescue along with his siblings and his mom, Stacie Peppers, after their family moved away and left them behind in a home.

Thankfully, their story didn't end there.

Scott is now safe, loved, and ready to find the family who will give him the life he deserves.

And what a fun little guy he is!

Scott is a total love bug.

He absolutely loves people and will happily soak up affection, especially when belly rubs are involved. Give this boy some attention and he'll be your best friend in no time.

He's also a playful youngster who enjoys spending time with other dogs. He loves playing with his siblings and has a ton of fun exploring, wrestling, and just being a puppy.

But there's another thing that makes Scott particularly special:

He's already a great little leash walker!

For a one-year-old, Scott has made an excellent start. He walks very well on leash, giving his future family a wonderful foundation to build upon.

And while Scott is still young and definitely has plenty of puppy fun left in him, his GSP mix heritage means he doesn't have the same level of exuberant energy you might expect from a purebred one-year-old GSP.

He's a little easier to manage.

That doesn't mean Scott is a couch potato. He's still a young dog who needs daily walks, playtime, training, and plenty of interaction with his people. But his energy level should make him a more manageable choice for someone who loves the GSP personality but isn't quite ready for the intensity of a full-on young GSP.

Things Scott's Forever Family Should Know

Scott may be a little easier to manage than a young purebred GSP, but he is still a one-year-old dog!

His forever family will need to provide daily exercise, playtime, training, mental stimulation, and plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.

This is the perfect age to start building the foundation that will help Scott become an incredible adult companion.

And one very important thing: Scott is not yet house trained. Her adopter will need to establish a consistent routine and patiently help her learn the expectations of her new home.

And because he's still a young pup, his new family will need to puppy-proof their home and make sure tempting items, unsafe objects, and things he shouldn't chew are safely out of reach.

Think of it as helping Scott succeed while he learns the rules of his new world.

What OUR Volunteers Say

“Scott is such a love bug.”

“He loves to play with his siblings.”

“Cute as a button.”

“Loves to have his belly rubbed.”

“Scott is a ton of fun.”

“An amazing little guy with a great personality.”

Scott is the kind of dog who makes you smile.

He's playful.

He's affectionate.

He's smart.

He's already learning.

And he's got a belly just waiting to be rubbed.

Most importantly, Scott has so much potential.

At just one year old, his future is still wide open. With the right family, consistent training, daily exercise, and lots of love, he can grow into the amazing adult dog everyone already believes he can be.

He's not looking for someone to simply give him a place to live.

Scott is looking for someone who will help him grow.

Someone who will take him for walks, play with him, teach him new things, give him plenty of belly rubs, and include him as part of the family.

In return, you'll get a sweet, silly, affectionate young dog who thinks you're pretty wonderful.

If you're an active individual or family looking for a young, loving, playful GSP mix and you're ready to dedicate the time, training, exercise, patience, and space Scott needs to grow into his very best self, he may be the little guy you've been waiting for.

Please apply here to give Scott his forever home.

Scott has already been given a second chance. Now he just needs someone to make it forever.

Scott and his siblings who are also available for adoption are featured in the video below at 5:02.
