Meet Thor — A Playful Boy Looking for a Home With His Sister

Thor | 7 years old | Male | German Shorthaired Pointer

Meet Thor, a handsome seven-year-old white and liver GSP with a playful spirit, a gentle heart, and a very special lifelong companion—his sister, Ellie.

Thor and Ellie came into rescue after the person who had agreed to care for them while their previous family worked to secure housing was unfortunately unable to find a stable home for them.

After spending their entire lives together, Thor and Ellie are bonded and need to be adopted together.

And once you meet Thor, you'll understand why this sweet boy would make such a wonderful addition to an active family.

A Playful Boy With a Big Heart

Thor may be seven, but don't tell him he's supposed to slow down!

This boy loves to run, chase the ball, play with his rope toy, and engage in a good game of tug-of-war. He's playful, energetic, and always happy when there's something fun happening.

He also loves playing with Ellie. The two can entertain themselves, running and playing together when the mood strikes.

But Thor isn't all go.

When the fun is over, he's perfectly happy to settle down beside his favorite human and relax.

Because more than anything, Thor loves being with his people.

He wants to be where the family is, where the action is, and where he can feel like part of the pack.

A True Family Dog

Thor has spent his entire life around small children and enjoys being around people.

He grew up with Ellie, a female Queensland Heeler, and a male Chihuahua and has done well with well-socialized, well-mannered smaller dogs.

He does especially well inside the home and has learned how to settle when it's time to relax.

Thor is house trained, and he knows several commands, including:

“Sit” • “Out” • “Down”

He's also a good leash walker. He can get excited when he first heads out because there is a whole world to explore, but with consistent walks, he settles into a comfortable pace and walks nicely by your side.

He's friendly, easy to handle, and eager to be with his people.

Fetch, Tug & Everything Fun

Thor loves a good game!

He enjoys chasing the ball and will sometimes bring it back—but he's not always interested in giving it up afterward. Apparently, once he has the ball, it's his ball.

His rope toy, however, is another favorite.

He loves running around with it and playing tug-of-war with his people.

Thor also enjoys simply spending time with his family. Whether he's playing, exploring, or relaxing at your feet, he wants to be included.

He doesn't want to be left out of the fun.

Thor & Ellie

The most important thing to know about Thor is that Ellie is his sister, lifelong companion, and best friend.

They have spent their entire lives together.

They've shared a home, a family, adventures, routines, and countless ordinary days together.

They've also experienced the loss of their previous family together.

We believe their next chapter should be together too.

Thor and Ellie have good energy and enjoy exercising and playing together. They are also good walkers and can settle down when it's time to relax.

For the right family, adopting these two could be incredibly rewarding.

Things Thor's Forever Family Should Know

Thor is not crate trained, so his new family should not expect him to immediately be comfortable in a crate.

He is house trained and does well inside the home.

Thor does have a strong desire to be with his people. He may occasionally whine if he is left outside while everyone else is inside. He loves being part of the pack and can find being alone difficult.

His ideal home will be one where his people genuinely want their dogs to be part of their lives.

And, of course, Thor and Ellie must be adopted together.

He is also not a candidate for a home with cats.

Two Dogs Who Just Want to Be Part of the Family

Thor isn't looking for a complicated life.

He wants to run.

He wants to play.

He wants to chase a ball.

He wants someone to grab the rope toy and play tug.

He wants to go for walks and explore the neighborhood.

He wants to be where his people are.

And when the day is done, he wants to lie down beside his favorite human and simply be together.

That's Thor.

He's a fun-loving, affectionate, easy-to-handle boy who still has plenty of energy and plenty of love to give.

And wherever Thor goes, Ellie goes too.

These two have spent seven years knowing what it means to have each other. They've been through a major change in their lives already, and now they're waiting for someone who will give them the stability they've been missing.

Their ideal family will be active enough to give them regular exercise, but more importantly, they'll want to spend time with their dogs.

Hiking.

Walking.

Playing.

Exploring.

Relaxing together.

Being a family.

Because that's what Thor wants most.

He doesn't just want a house. He wants a pack.

And Ellie is already part of his.
