Wilma Is Adopted!

Wilma an 8 month old adorable female German Shorthaired Pointer Mix was rescued along with her siblings and her mother, Stacie Peppers after they were abandoned in a home after the owners moved away.

Wilma was on the small size, but her personality was huge! Being a GSP Mix, she was much easier to manage than an 8 month old purebred GSP. Wilma was just a little love. A sweet little girl, a bit shy, who was waiting for someone to notice her.

Mason and Rikki applied to adopt a female puppy under a year old. They wanted a dog they could train from the start, and grow with their family. Not having a GSP before, we thought a puppy mix would be better suited for them as first time GSP owners. They were active, so could meet the needs of a puppy, and have had dogs their whole lives. They had two dogs at home, Luna and Tigger that they rescued, and wanted to give another dog a loving home. They saw Wilma on our website and fell in love with her.

We invited Mason and Rikki, their children and Luna and Tigger out to meet Wilma, and it couldn’t have gone better. Wilma found her forever home!

We have had some updates and photos from Mason and Rikki, and Wilma is doing great! We couldn’t be happier for all of them!

First day

“We are happy with Wilma! She’s a great, beautiful girl. She’s definitely still a little skittish, but warming up to us every hour. I’ve taken her on walks & you can tell she’s learning.

The dogs have accepted her, but she is inching more & more closer to them. Almost laid down in the same bed as Luna (pit bull).

She & Luna are already playing in the backyard a lot, again you can tell they’re getting warmed up to each other”.

One Week Update

“Truthfully, she has been a wonderful addition to our growing family. Not to say she hasn't had a few moments because she has, but it's nothing that isn't fixable. She's extremely intelligent & very fast to pick up commands!

She's an amazing running partner, great with the kiddos & such a love bug. She's getting more comfortable with her older fur sisters; she & Luna (our pittie) play all the time & it's hilarious to watch Wilma run laps around Luna haha”.

One Month update

“Wilma’s doing great, getting super comfortable as the days go by. Always wants to cuddle & wait for her pets on the head, haha She does very well with leash training too.

We really appreciate Wilma and love her. We are happy to have her in the family”.
